Front view the face is slimmer and the zygomatic area in the red circle is smoother in the post operation picure at the right side.
The bright light reflection of the zygoma and zygomatic arch disappeared in the uppper circle post operatively. The chin is more pointing post operatively in the lower circle.
The cheeck groove is faded away and the mandible line in the lower circle is longer.
The zygoma bone resection and zygomatic arch smoothing plasty were done for this girl. 2 months postoperative follow-up. The surgical swelling still not totally subsided. Yet the girl’s facial contour changed ideally already. A narrower and more charming face is presented. . The girl said:”I didn’t notice dramatic swelling after surgery. It seems that my face didn’t get any smaller. By touch my face I can feel my zygoma bone is smaller. But I never realized so much change in my face contour.”
Dr. Ma replied:”As the zygoma bone is located deeply in the face the reduction effect of zygoma plasty will not reveal in the early post operation stage. The good thing about that is you can go back to normal work and lift and the result will show gradually without the absence from you friend’s or colleague’s eye. The whole process is quiet natural.
